Film Magazine

The Masthead is placed at the top of the magazine in a bold white font, which serves the purpose of informing the audience about the brand and name of the magazine.

The date and price are conventional in all film magazines, it’s important that’s it’s small and hidden in order keep potential costumers interested in buying our product. Additionally, the barcode is placed at the bottom of the page in the right-hand corner, so it doesn’t distract the audience attention away from rest of the page.

We displayed an image of our main protagonist, similarly to other film magazines. This is a unique selling point as the audiences are able to recognise the character and associate them with our film, generating a larger audience. Furthermore, it informs the audience that the film “ONE DAY” is the main article in the magazine

The featured articles on our front cover relate to the main concept and topics discussed in our film, informing the audience about the genre, as well as the storyline e.g. “ Physiological talks on depression and overcome anxiety.”

We also certified our magazine by including film reviews from professional critics so the audience can take professional advice about film they decide to watch.

Magazine and Poster Process

This is the step by step process of how we edited our images for the poster and magazine

1.     Increase contrast of the image of 21
2.     Then decrease the highlights by -21 and decrease the shadow by -33
3.     After increased white clipping by 14 and decreased black clipping by -26
4.     To add crispness to the image added clarity by 24
5.     For the point curve reduced more highlight and decrease more shadow

6.     After return to basic adjustment to increase the contrast to 21 and decrease the saturation by -7
7.     Focusing on HSL panel, reduced the green saturation by -60, increased yellow luminance by -36, reduced orange saturation by -38, reduced the yellow saturation shift by -38, decreased the aqua saturation shift by -51, reduced blue saturation by -38, increased red luminance shift 29, increased the green luminance shift by 16 and increased the blue luminance shift by 36
The final out come of the images after the colour correlation

Poster
We needed to include conventional features on our film poster such as tagline ,title of the film, production credit and release date. For the film title and slogan we used PJ standard font we also used Avenir Next Italic also part of film title. We used SF movie poster font for the production credit because it tiny and narrow. Lastly for release date used Mrs Eaves Petite Caps font to make it distinguishable among the production credits
