For our trial, we chose some conventional setting in drama films. It's important to include a variety of location to keep the audience engaged and interested in our trailer.I took pictures of each location that we will be filming in and reasons to why we picked them.
Playground at the park
Court Recreation Ground, Epsom
As one of our locations, we will include the park/ residential area. Our trailer focuses on teenagers. The “park” mainly appeals to teens, as it’s known to be a common place for them to socialise. This is a perfect location to film our exposition scene because it’s welcoming. We are aiming to shoot in the evening because the sun will set, creating a warm atmosphere.
The Ashley Center, Epsom
Another location that will be featured in our trailer is Starbucks. The restaurant is very popular amongst teenagers, as a place to hang out and mix with individuals their age. Additionally, it’s a suitable place for us to film because it has a window seat, that lets enough amount of natural night to film in. Using normal and recognisable places to film will make our trailer relatable and realistic.
Bedroom/Home
1 Vancouver Cl,Horton Hill,Epsom,KT19 8TA
Our trailer consists of young teenage character’s, still living at home, it’s ideal to include the location of a house. We are planning to shoot a flashback and mental breakdown scene in the protagonist’s bedroom. Our female protagonist is aged 16, therefore, the function of the “bedroom” is significant, as it provides privacy and time to reflect. This will be effective because it creates a convincing portrayal of the teenage character, appealing to the target audience.
Rooftop
The Ashley Center, Epsom
Lastly, we want to include some kind of rooftop, we agreed to use the Ashley center carpark. Our trailer will end with a cliffhanger, therefore, the rooftop is perfect because it leaves the audience on the edge.
